So, recently (as today is the last day) I had the chance to work in the Summer festival in Québec city! What a hoot!
It is soo much fun! 10 days of great live music, buskers, artisans, promotions, restraunts overflowing untill late into the night, clubs packed, parks full of picnicers and partiers...great for everyone. Seriously, and not speaking French is not a big issue. Especially in the summer time, it`s not as easy to get by as in Montréal if your not at least a bit linguistic, but it`s totally possible!
They blocked off a section of Grande Allee, and Rue St. Jean every evening, and all day every weekend for the festival. It was nuts! There were some big name (albeit older) bands but some new faces too, ei, Scorpions, Live, Twisted Sister (I kid you not) and DJ Champion. Plus a cool punk show, etc.
If anyone got to go there this year, I was the girl driving the giant Ford truck with the Fusion in the back full of popcorn! If not, hope you can make it there next year, QC really does festivals right! This whole drining on the street thing, it rocks!! Plus, all the police were in great moods, their there just to keep things from getting rowdy, which it dosn`t seem to get over there. Cool, laid back, fun.
