    Well hello there sunshine!!!

Welcome, to tribe, and to Canada!

I sadly, don`t really know Montréal very well, but I am a mere 3 hours away in Québec City. I have spent a few weekends in Montréal, but I`m super bad at paying attention to where I am going, I sorta just go with the party, and end up where I do.

I can say that Montréal is very diversified. If you don`t speak French, it is not a problem, almost everybody speaks English, and downtown all the shops are bilingual. There are some fantastic old record shops, kooky stores, wild blues, jazz scene...and I think the "Just for Laughs" festival is still on, if not, then it just ended.

Old Montréal is beautifull! It is the second oldest city in Canada, Québec is older, and there are some stunning buildings. Sorry I`m not much more help to you, but I`m sure your going to have a great time. How long are you staying for?

Bonne chance, salutations et à bientôt!

    Deloris

I come with an open heart and mind.

      Thank you for the welcome.
My French isn't like my Italian but I think I will get around OK.
I will be in Montreal for four days of meetings. So my eves are free to see the city.
You've been of much help. I will think of your advise on my journey. ie. record shops, jazz scene and kooky stores. I can't wait to see Old Montreal.

      paix

Cool! If your going there for meetings, surely the locals will be of great assistance to you! I know there are some fantastic parks if your into cycling and there are places to rent bicycles, but sadly this is where my knowledge ends. What I do when I`m in a strange city and have no idea what to do or where to go, is ask at the hotel. These guys know everything! Even more important than where to go, they can tell you where not to go!

Good luck, 4 days will just enuogh to give you a taste of what Montréal has to offer. If your there for a weekend, and you like to party, there are some good afterhours clusbs too. Cabbies and early 20s bellhops, they know it all!
